These BANGER RACING photos shown are in approximate year order, starting from1969.
They were the best in the land in their day especially at New Brighton and Crewe due to the nature of the circuits.
New Brighton with its famous banked bends and tarmac and Crewe with its wide bends, shale and size.
Whether it was Team Racing or not, the end result was always the same.
Absolute fabulous destructive racing with bumps, bangs, fencings and countless roll-overs assured.
Engine size for this formula was 2500cc but eventually was downsized to 2000cc and the BMC A60 and the
Triumph 2000 were the favoured cars of the day.
Also carried a full range of Championships and were graded every month, either White, Blue or Red. British Champion
had a Gold Roof and the previous years National Points Champion had a Silver Roof.
